Bird strikes have been a serious problem at JFK, forcing planes to occasionally divert course and make emergency landings-just this week, a man captured one such bird strike on video. 1

The airport is teeming with bunnies which can hop out onto runways in front of a plane or simply draw birds of prey. Ninety-nine wascally wabbits and hares were shotgunned at JFK last year by Elmer Fudd firing squads comprised of Port Authority and USDA workers. "It's open season at the airport to shoot rabbits," said Steven Garber, a biologist and consultant for wildlife management at airports. 2

When the Giants' Brandon Belt popped up a Jon Rauch pitch with two out in yesterday's ninth inning and the Mets up two runs, Mike Pelfrey already was in the Mets training room. Belt's pop-up dropped when center fielder Kirk Nieuwenhuis overran it, a brutal misplay that allowed the Giants to stunningly tie the game. 1

Yes, the Mets, as maddening and crazy as the ending was, ultimately snapped their three-game losing streak with a 5-4 victory over the Giants yesterday at Citi Field. "At this level you're going to escape death sometimes and sometimes you're going to get shot," he said. 2

Collins on Sunday morning met with Francisco, who assured the manager the knee woes that troubled him late in spring training are not hampering his performance. 3

The NHL has not scheduled a hearing for Senators winger Chris Neil, and sources said Sunday that Neil will avoid discipline for his hit Saturday that left the Rangers' Brian Boyle with a concussion. Tortorella said he didn't know whether Boyle would make the trip to Ottawa for Game 6 on Monday night. 1

The Ottawa forward lined up Rangers center Brian Boyle with 14:39 remaining in the third period, and with the puck gone, Neil rose and threw his shoulder into Boyle's face. Boyle played just three more shifts, did not come back onto the ice for the final 6:55, and afterward John Tortorella confirmed that Boyle had a concussion. 2

From the moment that Brian Boyle roughed-up Erik Karlsson in Game 1, he's been a marked man by a Senators team out for vengeance. 3
